As natural as I please
I’m in the heart of Dixie
Dixie’s in the heart of me
And someday when I make it, when love finds a way
From somewhere high on Lookout Mountain, I’ll just smile with pride and say
That my home’s in Alabama, no matter where I lay my head
My home’s in Alabama
I’m Southern born and Southern Bred

Every once and a while I go back and read some of the dabbs archives. I recently took a look at September 2004 and I’ll have to say, y’all, those were some fun entries and comments and banter. I have been so remiss lately with my posting. So I’m looking for some inspiration.

It’s hard to be positive when the entire free world is on Spring Break and you’re stuck indoors and it is a rainy, nasty day. Boo, hiss!

Anyway, so I’ve got a family reunion coming up this weekend. Those of y’all that know about how these things roll with my bunch should be as anxious as me to see what will transpire. I’ll try to post the good stuff for you here. Ah yes, there is nothing like a good old fashioned Southern family reunion. I think they ought to come and film a KFC commercial, because our clan is straight up on board with the Colonel. I always threaten my mother each year that I will tag the invitation with a no KFC disclaimer. I think last year there were 6 buckets and more mashed potatoes and gravy and coleslaw than you can shake a stick at.

Oh lord, I’m already ramping up for it. I can tell just by how I’m writing and talking. By Friday I’ll be nothing but y’alls and all y’alls and reckons, you just wait and see.
