There's some sad things known to man
But ain't too much sadder than
The tears of a clown
-- Smokey Robinson and the Miracles
Wednesday afternoon marked the completion of a major, major, major project for me. I presented it to the powers that be and then with a major sigh of relief retreated back to my office. A few hours later, in a discussion with my very good friend, Andrea, I burst into tears. Tears of relief, frustration and plain tiredness, I guess. Anyway, hallelujah, that part is over at last.
As it turns out, I've been a huge Motown kick recently. I continued adding to my collection last weekend by purchasing Smokey Robinson and the Miracles. As I left work on Wedensday (the CD was already in the jeep) "The Tears of a Clown" pumped through the speakers. And I laughed a little. They are right -- there isn't too much sadder than the tears of a clown.
Anyway, hope all of you are well. Much love and happiness!
