If there was a problem

Yo, I'd solve it
Check out the hook while my DJ revolves it
-- Vanilla Ice

Trust me, that will be going through your head for at least the next 48 hours. Ha! I just overheard someone say, "If there was a problem" and that immediately popped to mind. What is it with my brain?

Yesterday I told a friend of mine to not use a particular new font she had chosen because someone we don't want to emulate already uses that one. And later that same day, my boss marveled at my knowledge of rims, spinners, 22s, etc. Where do I get this useless knowledge and how do I retain it? Too bad I can't harness my brain power for good! Oh well, as Mick Jagger would say, You can't always get what you want. Well, I hope everyone has a lovely weekend. I'm going to see my boys Maroon 5 with John Mayer tomorrow! woo hoo!

I feel stupid

but I know it won't last for long
Tell me why, why, why
Do I, I, I feel stupid
I come undone
In this mad season
-- Matchbox 20

Ok, so sorry for the rant from last week. It was just a bad day. Anyway, so far, so good for this week... Monday, Monday -- why you treat me this way? I hope you and yours are well! I'm sure there will be more to rant about tomorrow...

peace,
Dabbs

It don't mean nothin'

The words that they say
Don’t mean nothin’
These games that people play
No, it don’t mean nothin’
No victim, no crime
It don’t mean nothin’
'Til you sign it on the dotted line
-- Richard Marx

I hate games. Not the Olympic Games, mind you, because I'm loving those. (well, I don't get synchronized diving, but whatever). I'm talking about games people play. You know, boys playing games with girls, girls playing games with boys, friends playing games with friends -- all of it. It's stupid and "childish" and it needs to cease -- immediately.

What the freak ever happened to saying what you mean? Let's get down to it, y'all. Here it is -- this is the deal, no BS. What I'm trying to say is -- leave the 4th grade crap back where it belongs -- in our collective memories of 4th grade. No one that I know of has time for the junk. It must cease -- immediately.

I don't have the energy for the drama any more. I'm with Mary J. Blige -- come on y'all -- let's celebrate no more drama in our lives. Leave it behind, people. Let it go. It's not worth it. All we're doing is giving ourselves an ulcer, or maybe in some cases (mine included) we're giving ourselves fodder for ugly nightmares.

Further "Don't mean nothin'" Lyrics:

And you want to scream, but you gotta keep it all inside
When you’re trying to make a living,
There ain’t no such thing as pride, no

You know what? we shouldn't have to deal with this crap. I'm done. I'm through. I'm rising above it. I can't let it drag me down. "Can't nobody take my pride, can't nobody hold me down, oh no, I got to keep on moving." And here's a quick fact for you -- I will mow you down if you get in the way. Cheers! "Rip away the tears, Drink to hope to happy years."

What Would You Say?

One more thing -- when someone is having a bad day, if you can't (or more likely) don't want to empathize with them, then shut up and get out of the vicinity.

Now, I'll be better tomorrow... No worries...

Everyone has a secret

But can they keep it?
Oh no they can't
-- Maroon 5

I'm a good secret keeper. I have grown tremendously in this respect since high school. I can probably say that I shaped up my talent because I'm sure along the way, someone reveled secrets about me. And like they say, once bitten twice shy. And once you know what it's like, how can you do it to someone else? Anyway, I thought it'd be fun to talk about guilty pleasures. So don't worry -- I'm not going to post any of your secrets on here, ha ha! =)

Most folks have guilty pleasures. As in, things that they love and/or are obsessed with that they wouldn't want everyone to know. My favorite example is a pal of mine that was totally obsessed with Tough Enough on MTV. That cracks me up. And I know lots of you have always loved N Sync and/or the Backstreet Boys.

And I can't knock it, because unfortunately, some of you know that I was obsessed with 98 Degrees. I still love Nick Lachey. Bless his heart -- doesn't he look miserable on his MTV show a lot of the time? So just for the hell of it, enjoy reading some of my guilty pleasures and please feel free to return the favor by posting yours in the comments section!

MTV -- I'm a sucker for anything on MTV. I'm 26, and by gosh, I still want my MTV!

The OC -- the smartest, funniest night time soap I've ever seen. Love, love, LOVE it.

98 Degrees -- Trackmasters, Motown, do you wanna get down? Can't help it, love Nick and Jeff. And plus, believe it or not, they can actually sing and have a cool Motown vibe. (Maybe that's because they were on the Motown label).

Red Kitchen appliances -- so this one is not one I would or should hide. But it's become a recent freakish obsession. I must have a red blender...

Ok kids, your turn!!
