Is anyone out there

'Cause it's getting harder and harder to breathe
-- Maroon 5

I am so ready for fall. It is way too hot. I know what you're thinking, I'll be complaining in the winter about how cold it is. But no, I won't. You can always do something about being cold. Being hot, there's only so much you can do. So bring on the fall, the leaves, the cool air... I'm ready.

I'm sorry Ms. Jackson

I am for real
-- Outkast

My apologies, visitors of amydabbs.com. I've left you hanging with no new entries! I have been slammed at work this week. And today is no different. I must attend a press conference and prior to the press conference I will be apparently keeping the Governor of our fine state occupied in a green room, that actually has beige walls. So, big fun. Look for me on the news, kids, me and all my cool friends will be sitting in the back row trying not to fall asleep....

More later, I promise -- I've got a seriously insane story to share....

It's just another manic Monday

Wish it was Sunday
'cause that's my fun day
My I don't have to run day
-- The Bangles

I hate shopping. Anyone that knows me knows this. I mean, I HATE it. I'd rather pull my eye teeth out of my head than shop most of the time. Ok, so that's not true, but I do hate it. I love getting new stuff, it's just the actual going and trying on, etc. that sucks about shopping.

But, I do love some kinds of shopping. For example -- office supply stores -- love them. I spent some time this weekend at my local Staples. Pens, notebooks, electronics, etc. This is my kind of place. The child in me still wishes on some level that I had to shop for new school supplies every August, so I fullfilled this desire by buying some very cool new pens and a nice pretty planner/organizer type thingy.

So, this is what I'm saying. I should open a super store that has all the cool things that people like me need to be happy. Some Staples, Barnes and Noble, Best Buy all rolled up into one. I bet I'm not the only person that would be tempted to spend half their check at this cool place. What should we call it??

Lookin' so crazy, got me lookin' so crazy

What is it with technology? How did we become dependent on so many machines? What do the Amish folks and less fortunate folks of the world do without technology?

We've got to have our technology, too. And if we don't, some of us grown adults will whine and cry and pitch a fit. How do you act when your email goes down? Don't even front, you know you want to put your fist through a wall if you come into work and can't check it. And personal email is even worse. If you can't get to it, who knows what you may have missed hearing about in everyone's lives.

Monday marks the beginning of a new career for my friend and your's, Ms. Holli. She will be starring in the role of 8th grade reading teacher/ 9th grade English teacher. So, she's saying how it's going to kill her to not be able to check her email. And I feel her pain, I couldn't stand it either. Watch people, the world is probably coming to everyone carrying their PDA or tablet around with their wireless Internet access and therefore email.

So this bears the question of, are kids that are growing up in this world now at a disadvantage becuase they are learning to communicate electronically and not the good old fashioned way? Seriously, how many of you would rather IM someone than talk on the phone? Not that there is anything wrong with that, I'm just saying that the more I look around, the more cold and steely the world looks to me. And don't get me wrong, I love, love, LOVE email and couldn't live without it, but I worry about what happens to kiddies that never learn interpersonal skills because they learn to e-communicate instead. (did I just coin a new e-word??)

So, have a nice weekend and talk to someone in person. =)
