did anybody get the tag number on that truck??
I feel like a semi has ran me over! I don't know what it is. I missed work yesterday. My first sick day on the new gig. I made it almost 4 months without being out. I have no idea what I have or had, but, I just feel like I've been hit by a truck. No fever (that I know of) no sore throat, the only other thing is that I had a headache. Yesterday morning I had to force myself out of bed. Today wasn't much better. I was feeling better towards the middle of the day, but I'm on a downward spiral. Anyway, I wonder what it is?? Weird. Here's hoping this too shall pass, and very quickly!

Baby it's cold outside
Forgive me for stating the painfully obvious, but OH MY GOSH! It is freakin' cold. I hear all my peeps straight up north in the T-Valley got some snow on. Rock on. I bet y'all still had to crawl into work, though -- I expect you all to be here by 10 and what not! =)
Anyway, snow's not as much fun as when we were kiddies, is it? now it's a super hassle because you still have to go to work and none of us people (you transplanted Yankees included here) know how to drive in the stuff. Here's why. The last major, major snow we had in H-Vegas was February of 1996. Those were the days.... But I digress... Suffice it to say we had around a foot and we stayed our butts at home for 3 or 4 days.
Back to the driving, point being that we never, never see this stuff. We don't know what to do. People in Alabama still think that you can slam on your brakes when you see a huge ice patch. Nope, bad move. And, all the yanks down here are the ones that say, "Ah, it's only a couple of inches of snow underneath a solid sheet of ice on North Parkway, I'm going to go get in my Expedition and fly like it's 90 degrees on dry pavement on a July day." Hence, these folks get out there and drive like Earnhardt Jr. and wonder why their butts have an accident.
Now, this was not to offend all you northerners by any means. (especially not our very own Bostonian, shortness) There are plenty of Bubbas and Billys that do the same crap in their Ford pickups with their dog hanging its head out the window coming off of San Mountain spitting tabacco out the other window who hit a patch of ice and try to lock their brakes up, thereby hitting aforementioned Yankee in land yacht. See what I'm saying??
Wow, how many stereotypes can I cover here?? =) all you who know me know what I'm sayin', right? RIGHT??
So, bottom line, when the roads are nasty and you can, please stay your butt at home, you're better off. Oh, and by all means, nothing is ever more important than your life. Be careful. You can always, "work from home."
Too serious of a note to end on..... throw a snowball at someone for me, y'all!
much love,
dabbs
