did anybody get the tag number on that truck??
I feel like a semi has ran me over! I don't know what it is. I missed work yesterday. My first sick day on the new gig. I made it almost 4 months without being out. I have no idea what I have or had, but, I just feel like I've been hit by a truck. No fever (that I know of) no sore throat, the only other thing is that I had a headache. Yesterday morning I had to force myself out of bed. Today wasn't much better. I was feeling better towards the middle of the day, but I'm on a downward spiral. Anyway, I wonder what it is?? Weird. Here's hoping this too shall pass, and very quickly!

Baby it's cold outside
Forgive me for stating the painfully obvious, but OH MY GOSH! It is freakin' cold. I hear all my peeps straight up north in the T-Valley got some snow on. Rock on. I bet y'all still had to crawl into work, though -- I expect you all to be here by 10 and what not! =)
Anyway, snow's not as much fun as when we were kiddies, is it? now it's a super hassle because you still have to go to work and none of us people (you transplanted Yankees included here) know how to drive in the stuff. Here's why. The last major, major snow we had in H-Vegas was February of 1996. Those were the days.... But I digress... Suffice it to say we had around a foot and we stayed our butts at home for 3 or 4 days.
Back to the driving, point being that we never, never see this stuff. We don't know what to do. People in Alabama still think that you can slam on your brakes when you see a huge ice patch. Nope, bad move. And, all the yanks down here are the ones that say, "Ah, it's only a couple of inches of snow underneath a solid sheet of ice on North Parkway, I'm going to go get in my Expedition and fly like it's 90 degrees on dry pavement on a July day." Hence, these folks get out there and drive like Earnhardt Jr. and wonder why their butts have an accident.
Now, this was not to offend all you northerners by any means. (especially not our very own Bostonian, shortness) There are plenty of Bubbas and Billys that do the same crap in their Ford pickups with their dog hanging its head out the window coming off of San Mountain spitting tabacco out the other window who hit a patch of ice and try to lock their brakes up, thereby hitting aforementioned Yankee in land yacht. See what I'm saying??
Wow, how many stereotypes can I cover here?? =) all you who know me know what I'm sayin', right? RIGHT??
So, bottom line, when the roads are nasty and you can, please stay your butt at home, you're better off. Oh, and by all means, nothing is ever more important than your life. Be careful. You can always, "work from home."
Too serious of a note to end on..... throw a snowball at someone for me, y'all!
much love,
dabbs

check, check out my melody
It's my way, my way or the highway....
!!!!!!!!! ha ha ha!!!!!!! that's for you, shortness! boy, the highway sure feels good, too!
Actually what I was going to rant about is Fred Durst and Britney Spears. Have you guys heard that they are maybe, probably, definitely, a thing now?? wow, way to get back on the PR train, Brit! Who is even talking about J Lo and Ben now??? Good for you. We all remember you and Freddy of Limp Bizkit (who has been gone for a while, too) now. Smart, very smart.
Dude, I would be so good at celebrity PR! Haven't been heard of in years?? I'll dream up something to get your name out there. Debbie Gibson, Fred Savage --where are you? Give me a call, you'll be all over E! online the next day!
I'll think of somethin' to razzle dazzle 'em for sure!
Quote of the day, from Breezy's grandfather,
"what's your major?"
"Advertising"
"Advertising, really? I hate to see you get in to that, that's nothing but a bunch of bull."
One of the funniest things I have ever heard!! I was rolling! dude, that was like 6 or so years ago.
Anyway, after my celebrity PR firm starts booming, I'm going to move over into directing music videos. Watch out Wayne Isham... I've got my eye on your clients!

And who, in case she doesn't hang, can say she started with a bang?
ROXIE HART.
Sorry, I got the Chicago soundtrack the other day. It's all up in my brain! Anyway, I was going to go get it Tuesday before the accident. Anywayz, I'm so glad it is Friday. I mean really. I'm always glad for Friday, but this time I'm serious. I'm going home for JT and Shortness' baby shower. And the rest of the time there I'm going to chill. And see Amy and Matt. But anyway, enough banter, y'all have a great weekend!

Did I break a mirror, or something??
I don't remember if I did, but it seems I've stumbled upon a bit of bad luck lately. My poor Jeep is taking the brunt of it. First the windshield and now the bumper.
Yes, yes, I had my first wreck yesterday. And it pissed me off. Here I am, almost 25 years old and no wreck on my record. But, at least this wasn't my fault. And no one was injured (expect the "new hotness" aka "greased lightning").
So, I stayed at work 5 more minutes than I intended to yesterday and just look what it got me! Had I left when I planned to, she would have rammed someone else. I was in the parking deck and someone was backing out of a spot, so I had to stop. I checked my mirror and saw no one. As I was waiting for this lady to back out, another car came around the curve going at least 50 and rammed me.
I am so proud of the fact that I didn't take her head off. I just calmly stood there and handled it. Anyway, it shook me up more than anything. But, I'm now past having my first accident. Big fun.
Y'all have a good day and drive careful.

Happy 25th, Heather!
Today is January 13 and Heather is 25! Much love to you, sis! I wish I could party with you. Wow! 25, dude, I'm starting to feel old and stuff. =)
Well, this weekend I saw "Catch me if you Can". It was ok. I mean, I think I made a mistake by seeing it after "Chicago." It just didn't entertain me as much. ("Let me entertain you, let me make you smile")
Anyway, suffice it to say that I enjoyed the movie and Leo was good. Tom Hanks grated on my nerves with that accent, though. Where was he supposed to be from??? I really do think I would have liked it better had I saw it before. I just wasn't engrossed in it. In fact, I was ready for it to be over -- it seemed to drag a bit at the end to me. I was thinking, hurry the freak up and catch him! That's another thing, why show us at the beginning how it ends up?? I couldn't see any purpose it served other than to let Hanks' character ask him numerous times how he passed the bar exam.
Movie question for those of you out there with a keen eye --- why do I keep seeing trailers with deleted scenes?? this is driving me nuts!! For example, the trailer for "Two Weeks Notice" (great one, by the way) has a scene with Sandra Bullock and Heather Burns (the one with the very recognizable voice). They are jogging in a park and she says to Sandra, "You love him" and Sandra replies, "I love him?" they banter back and forth in this manner and it ends with Sandra saying, "come on, give me another." This scene was totally not in the movie! so why would you spend millions on advertising dollars showing something that is not in the movie?? this is just a dumb business practice! Anyway, I had just seen that trailer before I went to see the movie, so I know I'm right. Also, in "Catch me if you can" there is a scene with Leo and either Jennifer Garner or the braces girl jumping up and down on the bed and throwing money around. This scene, I imagine was supposed to remind us that he really was just a kid. Was it in the movie?? NO! People in Hollywood, get a clue! If we see it in the trailer, we expect to see it at the theater. Enough of showing us what "bonus footage" we'll get in the DVD!
Now, that's that. You know now my new pet peeve! Have a great day today, it is Bubbles' b'day, after all!

All that jazz
Every once and awhile, a movie comes along that is so good that you can’t get your mind off of it. I’m here to tell you folks that that movie is Chicago. It surpassed my very, very high expectations. It’s that good – I promise. This movie catapulted its way into my all time favorites list during the opening number. It’s that good. Forgot Moulin Rouge (which I did adore, save the Madonna number), Chicago has set the bar for the all new American movie musical, and make no mistake, that bar is extremely high – I doubt any at all will be able to compare. I’m telling you, it’s amazing.
So, as I mentioned in another post, I saw Chicago on stage back in February (I think) of 2000. I almost missed it because I was in T-town and it snowed 5 inches. I couldn’t get home on Friday. Thankfully, it had all melted by Saturday and I was able to make it. I loved it. It was edgy, provocative, intriguing and I couldn’t take my eyes off the stage. My favorite part was the music. So, like I said, I had very high expectations seeing it on the big screen. It surpassed those expectations. I’m no Roger Ebert, but I’m going to give you a run down, Amy D. style, on this movie.
I saw this with Grace. About 30 minutes or so into the flick, she leaned over and I said, “I LOVE this!!” I wholeheartedly agreed. I was hooked from the very beginning after Velma (Catherine Zeta-Jones) washed the blood off her hands and bounded on to the stage of the club. I was already grinning when I heard the familiar opening strains of “All that Jazz”. The bass and piano were thumping as she stepped on to stage. “C'mon babe, why don’t we paint the town.” Pause, pause. “And all that jazz.” I knew this was going to be an awesome movie.
I’ll spare you all the details of the rest of the movie and run down what I thought of the actors. Catherine was excellent; she has a great, belting voice and can dance like nobody’s business. I think she was perfect for the role. Renee Zellweger was spectacular as Roxie Hart. I thought she was a movie star before, now I think she’s going to become a mega wattage, full blown, superstar. She was so good. She’s convincing and her singing and dancing really did rival Catherine’s, if not surpass it in some cases. In fact, I’ll go ahead and say that her singing did surpass Catherine’s. Catherine had the upper edge in dancing. Richard Gere is not one of my favorite actors, but I came away impressed. His first song, “All I care about” had me a bit skeptical. In that number all the girls around him danced, so he didn’t have to. But he grew on me throughout the movie and did a good job, and even danced pretty well. My favorite number of his was, “Razzle Dazzle.” Oh, maybe not, I forgot how amazing, “We both reached for the gun” was. (See what I’m saying? Nary a second that wasn’t spectacular!) Now, Queen Latifah, threw down in her role as Mama, she was great. Unfortunately, her number with Catherine was left on the cutting room floor. I would have rather seen that than another Gere soft shoe, but alas, I’ll wait for the DVD. John C. Riley and his “Mr. Cellophane” gave one of the few poignant and quiet moments of the movie. He wasn’t in it much, but that one number was excellent.
What more can I say other than you must go see it on the big screen. Hands down, the best movie I’ve seen in years. If you love music (not just musicals) you’ll love this movie. The modern day audience will probably be pleased with the fact that most all of the music numbers take place in Roxie’s head so you don’t have to suspend reality. No one just bursts into song standing on the street. Anyway, it’s beautifully filmed, splashy, exciting, just downright awesome entertainment. I could go on and on, but you just have to see it for yourself! I’m going to see it again --- hopefully as soon as next week! And, I’ll be picking up the soundtrack on January 14! ( Check out 3 of the songs -- you'll have to click on upcoming releases)
If and when you see it, (and I made it pretty clear that you absolutely have to, right?) throw a comment up here to let me know if you liked the movie, too.

rant
Rant, rant, rant, rant, rant!!!!!
There, there -- enough -- I've got it out of my system now (hopefully....)
Welcome to new poster Heather! Ms. Bubbles and I have long been pals and much props to her on her sweet new gig. Check out the site . Anyway, and mad props for landing two roles in two productions! good for you, girl. She'll be famous, people, I'm telling you -- when she is, remember I told you so first!
Anyway, it has been a wild, wild day! Interesting stuff happening! Nope, no elaborating.... sorry, I have no idea who really reads this site..... (I'm sneaky!)
But, suffice it to say that it was so totally a Monday. The highlight of my week is coming up on Wednesday...
I'm going to see CHICAGO!!!!
Chicago is my second favorite musical that I have actually seen onstage with my very eyes. I love the music. I've heard great things and I have high expectations. I don't think I'll be disappointed. I'm not a huge Gere fan, but I'll get over it. Meanwhile... hey babe, why dont' we paint the town??
And all that jazz ---
